We solve problems and create social change using art and technology. Whether it’s a struggling high street, a forgotten corner of town, community isolation or marginalisation, our projects inspire innovation, social purpose, cultural change and regeneration.
Our vision
We want to see a world where our desire for all things digital is a force for good, online and offline, in the heart of urban areas. The world has changed a lot since the arrival of the internet and now digital technology is ever more integral to our lives. At Threshold we were early champions of a new digital culture, fusing art and technology together to create a democratic platform for marginalised and under-represented voices. We are always asking the big questions while championing artists and creatives who use technology in thought-provoking ways to connect deeply with people and places. We see ourselves and everyone we work with as creative catalysts for change.
Who we are
Established in 1998 Threshold Studios is a creative and cultural agency that specialises in the commissioning and production of art in the public realm using digital technology.
Our work has three strands:
- Commissioning and co-commissioning of new work in the public realm using technology
- Talent and digital skills development for the creative sector
- Placemaking consultancy creating positive social impact in the public realm through art and technology projects created by socially-driven artists.
