Margate Festival

2016 and 2017

In 2016 and 2017, Threshold worked with partners Turner Contemporary, Kent County Council and the newly refurbished Dreamland to continue and revitalise previous festival editions.

Threshold designed and developed a new festival structure of a public programme of place based and national artists in non-traditional and cultural spaces to create a festival trail through the town, “an alternative seaside day out” focused on live, contemporary and visual arts Margate festival presented work in seaside shelters, on big wheels, in galleries and cultural spaces, coffee shops and in public gardens.

Over two festival editions the festival engaged over 200 artists over 50 venues to audiences of over 60,000.
